Turing test

The Turing Test is a concept introduced by Alan Turing to measure a machine’s ability to exhibit intelligent behaviour indistinguishable from that of a human. In the test, a human evaluator interacts with both a machine and a person through text. If the evaluator cannot reliably tell which is which, the machine is said to have passed the Turing Test.

Example: A chatbot that can hold a conversation so convincingly that a human might believe they are talking to another person.

The Turing Test remains a foundational idea in discussions about AI and its potential to mimic human intelligence.
